Our advanced course aims to recap on the essential building blocks and features of Vista whilst at the same time explaining and demonstrating all of Vista’s user customizable preferences and advanced functionality.

  • Window workspaces
  • Merging showfiles
  • Exporting cue data
  • FX masters
  • Customising multi element fixtures
  • Programming shortcuts and tips and tricks
  • Custom sorts and selection orders.
  • Cuelist and console properties.
  • Working with LED matrices
  • Snapshots
  • Blocking and superblocking
  • Alias cues
  • Extracts and how they can be used
  • Interested commands and how to use them
  • Learn timing and timecode
  • Advanced patching – transforms, fixture cloning and swapping

An existing basic understanding of Vista is recommended before taking this course.

Learning Objectives:

  • At the end of this program, the learner will be able to use Vista’s advanced features.
  • At the end of this program, the learner will be able to program via the Command Line.
  • At the end of this program, the learner will be able to understand how to manipulate cues and cuelists.

Target audience: This training session is ideal for lighting designers, lighting operators, lighting technicians, who work in houses of worship, corporate AV, touring and installation markets.

Ben Coleman is a production professional with +20 years of experience within the lighting and entertainment industry. Throughout his career he has held various positions – from Stagehand to Production Manager and Lighting Director and continues to demonstrate his expertise in the field.

In 2015, Ben began working with A.C. Lighting Inc. in role of Technical Sales Support and is an in-house guru for the Vista range.

Ben currently lives in a small town the state of Texas with his wife, sons and dog.
