A.C.'s Audio division has recently supplied Imperial College Union with a new Opus 900 Series wireless radio microphone system.

A.C. Audio sales executive Glen Thompson, who oversaw the equipment supply commented: "Over the last year or two, Imperial College Union have been gradually updating their sound technology to meet with the growing demand from the drama productions and live band nights held at the venue. Already having experience with Opus wireless technology, the Union was keen to purchase three NE900Q UHF quad receivers due to their 1U rack size and known reliability and durability."

Glen continued: "Rack space can be a huge issue for many sound directors in this modern age, so the NE900Q is a superb solution that has no limiting or negative effects on the sound quality. The union will also have the option of running any brand of microphone with the Opus belt packs allowing ultimate flexibility and a 'mix & match' option for every different production & performer."

Beyerdynamic's Opus 900 Series boast the flagship of their wireless systems. Taking the experiences from both the 500 & 800 Series, the Opus 900 is designed to handle rigorous operating criteria in environments known for arduous wear and tear on technologically advanced equipment. The UHF receivers can be operated with up to 16 simultaneous channels per frequency band - selectable from 99 pre-programmed frequencies - without any interference, making them a desirable choice for many venues and touring productions.

Along with the rack receivers, a dozen handheld and belt pack transmitters were also purchased together with Sennheiser HSP4 head-worn microphones, adding to their already impressive equipment list which includes Yamaha and Soundcraft consoles, QSC PLX Series amplifiers and DBX and Tascam signal processing.
